Watertight Raised Hatch Cover For Shipping is a marine grade watertight access hatch specially manufactured for shipping vessels. This oval raised coaming hatch is mounted on ship decks and tank tops to provide an entryway for compartment inspection, tank cleaning, internal maintenance and cargo sampling.
Compared with round hatches, the oval structure provides a larger personnel access opening while saving deck installation space. The raised coaming (elevated neck) is the core watertight feature, which effectively blocks deck seawater, rainwater and splashes from flowing into ballast tanks, fuel oil tanks and other enclosed compartments.
Equipped with multiple heavy-duty toggle quick-release clamps and hinged cover design, this shipping hatch can be fully opened and closed manually without any tools. The hinge keeps the cover attached to the coaming after opening, avoiding falling or loss during onboard operation. A full-perimeter rubber gasket ensures continuous, reliable watertight sealing under rated working pressure.
The main body is constructed from carbon steel, finished with grey marine anti-corrosion epoxy coating to resist salt spray and harsh marine atmospheric corrosion.
